Why do you offer different rates ?

The rates we offer are designed to meet the needs of everyone wishing to travel to our islands.

The advantages of our rates include :

- Flexible rates: These rates allow you to change travel dates or times without paying any fees.

- Baggage allowances tailored to individual needs : Our customers can choose to travel without luggage or with baggage allowances of 15 or 23 kilograms.

- Low promotional rates accessible to everyone, without any selection criteria. This is why Air Moana does not offer a discount card.

To benefit from the rate that best suits your needs and is most cost-effective, we recommend booking as early as possible.

Why am I being charged penalties for modifications or refunds ?

Modification and refund fees help compensate for the work involved in processing your request.

If you prefer not to pay fees when making changes, we recommend choosing a flexible rate for your next trip.

Pourquoi est-ce que je paye des pénalités de no-show ?

No-show penalties are charged to compensate for the reserved seat that goes unused when a passenger does not show up for their flight. This seat could have been made available to other passengers.

To avoid these penalties in the future, we recommend modifying or canceling your reservation in advance if you are unable to travel.

Special requests

Do you offer group rates ?

We offer group rates; however, these are subject to evaluation based on the information you provide when requesting a quote. To qualify for a group rate, the group must consist of at least 10 adults traveling on the same flight.

When requesting a quote, you will need to provide the following information :

- The name and contact information of the person responsible for the trip

- The number of people : Adults, children, and infants

- The destination

- The travel date

- The reason for the trip

Is it possible to privatize a flight ?

We offer our clients the possibility to privatize a flight upon request. However, these requests are subject to evaluation.

You can still request a quote, and the following information will be required:

- The name and contact information of the person responsible for the trip

- The number of people: Adults, children, and infants

- The destination

- The travel date

- The reason for the trip

Why is my friend allowed to travel with their dog while mine was not accepted ?

For reasons of comfort and safety, the transport of animals in the hold or cabin is subject to certain limitations.

Unfortunately, on the flight you chose, this limit has already been reached.

Why do I have to pay for and confirm my pet's ticket only once I arrive at check-in ?

For reasons of comfort, safety, and in accordance with regulations, the transport of animals in the hold or cabin is subject to specific conditions.

At check-in, our ground staff will ensure that all conditions are met before accepting your pet on board.

Why does my pet need to be vaccinated, tattooed, or equipped with a microchip ?

The transportation of animals between the islands is subject to regulations set by the authorities.

These regulations require that animals be vaccinated, tattooed, or equipped with a microchip in order to travel. Air Moana adheres to these regulations.

Why can't I place my pet in my basket/handbag ?

For reasons of comfort, safety, and in accordance with regulations, the transport of animals in the hold or cabin is subject to specific conditions.

Additionally, transporting your pet in an appropriate container helps to minimize any inconvenience that might arise in the event of an unexpected issue.

Why do I have to pay for a second seat when the plane isn't full ?

The occupancy of the flight is not determined in advance, so for your comfort, we recommend booking a second seat to ensure your journey.

For your information, some seats may be empty, but the storage capacity could have reached its limit.

Does the purchase of a second seat for personal convenience include an additional baggage allowance ?

The additional seat is sold to optimize the passenger's safety and comfort. As it is sold at 50% of the airfare, it does not include additional baggage allowance.

Need assistance

Up to how many months can a pregnant woman travel by plane ?

A pregnant woman can travel up to her 7th month of pregnancy if it is not a high-risk pregnancy. Beyond the 7th month, a medical certificate from her doctor is required, confirming that she can travel without complications.

Can a pregnant woman travel with a child/baby/pet ?

Yes, she can travel with a child, baby, or pet if it is a complication-free pregnancy.

If a pregnant woman experiences complications during the flight, how is she taken care of ?

The in-flight crew is trained for such situations and will take care of the expectant mother to ensure everything goes as smoothly as possible until landing.

If a pregnant woman goes into labor during the flight, is the onboard staff trained to handle this situation ?

Yes, the crew is trained for such situations, so there is no need to worry.

Does a pregnant woman need a medical certificate (MC) to travel ?

Yes, if your pregnancy is high-risk or if you are prone to complications. Otherwise, a medical certificate is not necessary.

Does a pregnant woman receive priority access ?

For logistical reasons, we are currently unable to offer priority access to pregnant women.

Do babies have a baggage allowance ?

Babies under 2 years old are entitled to a 5 kg baggage allowance in the hold.

For your comfort, you also have the option to reserve a seat for your baby. The fare will be different, but the baby will receive a baggage allowance associated with the ticket price.

Am I allowed to bring a stroller/car seat ?

You are allowed to travel with a stroller or a car seat, and these items will be counted as part of your baggage allowance.

Why can't a mother travel alone with her twins?

For the safety of both the parent and the baby, one person can only travel with one baby in their care.

During takeoff, landing, and in case of turbulence, each baby must be secured with an infant seatbelt attached to the seatbelt of the passenger responsible for them.

Can I purchase an additional seat for my baby ?

You have the option to purchase a seat for your baby.

However, the fare will be different. Additionally, during takeoff and landing, your baby must be secured on an adult's lap.

What can you bring in the cabin when traveling with a baby ?

Baby food is allowed in quantities necessary for the duration of the journey (milk, water, baby jars, applesauce, etc.).

Is there a changing table for babies ?

Unfortunately, there is no changing table for babies on the plane.

Why is the unaccompanied minor (UM) service only offered to children aged 4 and above ?

Air Moana allows your child to travel without a family escort starting at the age of 4.

At this age, the child is independent and able to communicate with our ground staff or onboard personnel.

Why does an unaccompanied minor (UM) need to be independent to travel alone ?

Our ground staff and onboard personnel are responsible for assisting your child during boarding and the flight.

To ensure that this assistance is comfortable for your child, they must be able to manage themselves on board and communicate with the staff.

Is the unaccompanied minor (UM) service refundable ?

The UM service is indeed refundable.

We encourage you to inform us as soon as possible if you no longer wish to use this service. You can then request a refund before the scheduled check-in time.

Can my child depart as an unaccompanied minor (UM) and return accompanied ?

Yes, your child can depart as a UM and return accompanied.

If my child is booked as an unaccompanied minor (UM) and is disruptive or disturbs other passengers, what will you do ?

Don't worry, rest assured that your child is taken care of by the cabin crew. They are qualified and trained to ensure your child's well-being and comfort throughout the journey.

If the person scheduled to pick up my child, booked as an unaccompanied minor (UM), is not present at arrival, what will you do ?

If the person who was supposed to pick up your child does not show up, we will attempt to contact them. If we receive no response, we will inform you as soon as possible so that you can arrange for someone else to pick up your child. In the meantime, your child will remain under the care of our staff.

Can my child, booked as an unaccompanied minor (UM), bring food with them on the plane ?

Yes, your child can bring food, provided that the containers are well sealed and the beverage is unopened.

Do you offer activities during the flight for my child booked as an unaccompanied minor (UM) ?

Currently, we do not offer onboard activities, but to make the journey enjoyable for your child, we recommend providing them with a tablet or drawing materials.

If my child booked as an unaccompanied minor (UM) has allergies, how is it handled?

If your child has allergies, please provide them with their medication along with a prescription from their doctor. They can bring the necessary items on board with them.

Do you offer special rates for people with reduced mobility ?

Air Moana offers preferential rates for people with reduced mobility upon presentation of their card.

Who is entitled to assistance? Is a card, proof, or medical certificate (MC) required?

Anyone who has difficulty moving over long distances, in the plane, or at the boarding bridge can request assistance.

This service is free; however, you will need to request it when making your reservation online or inform our agents if your booking is made in an agency or by phone.

Can I travel with my own wheelchair ? Will it be counted as part of my baggage allowance ?

Transporting your wheelchair is entirely possible. Please note that it will be counted as part of your baggage allowance.

You will be asked to provide all the details of your wheelchair (battery, if applicable, dimensions, weight, etc.) so that we can verify the transportation conditions.

Why don't you have a high-lift ? What should I do ?

For the launch of the company, we do not have a high-lift available. However, we will assist individuals who have difficulty climbing the boarding ramp.

I have a battery-powered wheelchair. Is it accepted ?

Battery-powered wheelchairs are accepted, but we will need to review the battery's specifications together to ensure safe transportation.

I have a ticket without baggage. Can I bring my wheelchair into the cabin ?

Wheelchairs are transported in the hold only. If you wish, you can purchase an "additional baggage" option for the transport of your wheelchair.

Can I travel with my assistance animal ? What is the cost ? Is it free ?

It is entirely possible to travel with your assistance animal on our flights with the presentation of a document certifying the need to be accompanied by your animal. The transport of the animal is free of charge.

Does my assistance animal need to be in a crate ?

No, your assistance animal will be seated right in front of you and will not need to be transported in a crate.

What are the conditions for traveling with my assistance animal ?

We will need a certification from your doctor confirming your need for an assistance dog, as well as documentation proving that your dog has received special training.

Baggage

Why am I limited to only 10 kg of excess baggage?

We offer fares with baggage allowances of up to 23 kg. A 5 kg carry-on bag is also included with your ticket purchase.

We are pleased to offer the option to purchase additional baggage in advance. However, for safety reasons, this service is limited per person. Therefore, we recommend purchasing a ticket with a baggage allowance that closely matches your needs.

What is the fee for excess baggage ?

We offer two types of fees for excess baggage:

- The fee for excess baggage purchased in advance (at an agency or on our website)

- The fee for excess baggage purchased directly at the airport on the day of your departure
