Animal transport

Do you want to bring an animal with you ? Whether it's a cat, a dog, roosters and hens, or even live fish, you will find useful information here to help you prepare for their transport on our flights.

Prerequisites

Interisland transport conditions for animals are subject to the regulations of the Biosafety Directorate.

To travel with Air Moana, animals must be in good health, fit for travel, and free of parasites. The animal's health and veterinary formalities must be up to date on the day of departure. If there is any doubt about the animal's health, a veterinary health certificate may be required, and the animal may be refused boarding.

Animals must be at least one month old, and their transport must be notified at the time of booking by calling (+689) 40 48 40 00 or emailing [email protected].

Special cases for dogs and cats: Animals over 4 months old must be tattooed or carry a microchip*.

Special cases for freshwater fish: They must be placed in an internal container (a durable plastic bag designed to hold water for extended periods) which is placed in an external container (water-resistant fiberboard, insulating plastic or wood, or polystyrene). To prevent any water leakage, it is advisable to place the bag inside another identical bag.

Please note, minors are not allowed to transport an animal with them on our flights.

*For islands without a veterinarian, an exception may be granted on a case-by-case basis
