Up to the beginning of the 8th month of pregnancy

Pregnant passengers may travel without a medical certificate if the pregnancy presents no complications.

However, passengers are advised to seek medical advice before travelling.

The passenger may travel alone with a baby or a child.

From the 8th month of pregnancy

From the 36th week of pregnancy, a medical certificate is required in order to travel.

At this stage of pregnancy, the passenger must travel with an adult companion, particularly if travelling with a baby or a child.

High-risk pregnancy

A pregnancy is considered high-risk when there is an increased likelihood of complications for the mother, the unborn child, or the newborn.

In the event of a high-risk pregnancy or medical complication, a medical certificate may be required, even before the 8th month. The presence of a medical companion may also be required, depending on the doctor’s opinion.

Refusal of carriage

Air Moana reserves the right to request any additional medical certificate or to refuse carriage if the passenger’s state of health appears incompatible with safe air travel for herself, her unborn child, or the other passengers.

Are you traveling with a child ?

Any adult who is less than 35 weeks pregnant or has a pregnancy without complications can travel with a baby or a child.

From the 35th week of pregnancy or in case of complications, another valid adult companion must travel with the baby or child.

Here is a list of recommendations to make your journey with Air Moana as comfortable as possible :

If possible, travel with someone who can assist you during the flight.

Choose loose and comfortable clothing.

Wear compression stockings to aid blood circulation (upon medical advice).

Drink regularly, avoiding carbonated beverages.

Avoid heavy meals before the flight.

Fasten your seatbelt below your abdomen, in the pelvic area.

Carry important documents, your ID, health booklet, prescriptions, and medications in your handbag or carry-on luggage.

What happens in case of complications or childbirth during the flight ?

Our crews are trained to handle such exceptional situations. They will take care of the expectant mother to ensure her safety and comfort, making sure that everything goes as smoothly as possible until landing.

Do pregnant women receive priority access ?

Pregnant women are eligible for priority boarding. Please proceed to the gate when our agents invite priority passengers. However, due to logistical constraints, we are unable to offer this access at check-in. We encourage you to inform our agents of your situation so they can assist you as best as possible.
