The Marquesas have been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2024.
Hiva Oa, often described as the garden of the Marquesas, is home to the Iipona archaeological site and its monumental tikis, as well as the graves of Paul Gauguin and Jacques Brel. Its steep terrain plunges toward isolated bays, amid generous nature.
Nuku Hiva, the largest island of the archipelago, unfolds its legendary valleys, from Taipivai to Hakaui and its dizzying waterfall.
